If a lab is locked without explanation, please contact the Help Desk and we will try to resolve the problem as quickly as we can. In addition if the maintenance is scheduled there will be an email notice sent prior to the closure. If labadmin is doing maintenance there will be a notice on the door with an explanation and contact information. Either labadmin has intentionally locked the lab for maintenance or someone else has accidentally locked it. Sometimes labs which are normally unlocked, are locked.

It is not the responsibility of the lab admin staff to help students gain access to the buildings when they are locked. Students need to make their own arrangements in these circumstances.

So while students are free to use the labs at any time during fall and winter terms, the outside doors to the buildings are locked at night and on holidays. However, the main doors to the various buildings (CAB and CSC) are not controlled by the Department of Computing Science.
